Shaswar, Causse Named to Daktronics South Central Region Second Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs seniors Mash Shaswar and Gabe Causse were named to the Daktronics Division II Men's Soccer All-South Central Region Second Team this morning. The duo helped lead the Mountain Lions to their first RMAC semifinal game since 2001.

Shaswar was a second-team All-RMAC selection this season led the Mountain Lions with eight goals. He scored three game-winning goals for UCCS to help the team host its first playoff game in program history. Shaswar was an RMAC All-Academic First Team and Capital One Academic All-District Second Team student-athlete.

Causse was part of a defense that posted five shutouts during the season and earned All-RMAC Second Team honors. He was an RMAC All-Academic First Team student-athlete and helped the Mountain Lions post a shutout in the first playoff victory since 1998.

UCCS finished the season with a 9-9-1 overall record and fourth in the conference standings. The Mountain Lions put together a five-game winning streak midway through the season for the longest winning streak since 2000 and defeated Fort Lewis in Durango for the first time since 1999.

The Daktronics South Central Region teams were selected by the Sports Information Directors at the schools that sponsor men's soccer in the RMAC, Heartland Conference and Lone Star Conference.
