Roberts Earns Spot on All-Tournament Team
DENVER, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs sophomore midfielder James Roberts earned a spot on the 2012 RMAC Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team announced this afternoon after the conclusion of the conference tournament in Denver. Roberts scored the game-winning goal in the Mountain Lions' quarterfinal victory against Colorado Mesa.
Roberts helped lead UCCS to its first RMAC semifinal appearance since 2001 and the first RMAC tournament win since 1998. He was the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 16 after a three-goal weekend against Adams State and Fort Lewis.
The Mountain Lions finished fourth in the conference standings and hosted their first playoff game in program history on Oct. 31. UCCS finished with its second straight home winning season and put together a five-game winning streak during the season for the longest winning streak since 2000.
