Men's Soccer Picked Fifth in RMAC Preseason Poll
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer was picked to advance to a second straight RMAC tournament with the release of the 2012 RMAC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll this afternoon. The Mountain Lions were picked to finish fifth.
UCCS finished fifth in last year's standings and advanced to the first round of the conference tournament. The Mountain Lions return RMAC Second Team midfielder Bret Drefs and Third Team defender Max Thomas who led the team to their best overall record since 2003.
The opening round of the RMAC tournament will be held at campus sites Oct. 31 with the third through sixth seeds. The semifinals and finals will be at the top-seeded school on Nov. 2 and Nov. 4, respectively.
The Mountain Lions open the 2012 season in California with weekend matches against California State-East Bay on Aug. 30 and against Humboldt State on Sept. 1.
