UCCS Men's and Women's Soccer to Host Free Youth Night on Friday
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Youth soccer teams from the region are invited to participate in the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Youth Soccer Night this Friday when the Mountain Lions host Adams State. All players who wear their jerseys and their parents will receive free admission to Friday's games. Youth players will also be to win special autographed balls and jerseys and compete for additional prizes at halftime.
Games begin at 5 p.m., when the Mountain Lion women take on Adams State. The women are 7-1-1 at home this season and 9-2-1 overall, and have already secured their best season in program history based on total wins and win percentage. The Mountain Lions have been ranked as high as No. 17 in the Division II national polls and are ranked fourth in the latest NSCAA regional polls.
The men's game follows at 7 p.m., against Adams State. UCCS is third in the RMAC standings with five games remaining and will be going for a sweep against the Grizzlies this season. The Mountain Lions have not lost to the Adams State since the Grizzly program was established in the 2009 season.
The weekend is the final regular season home weekend for UCCS soccer. The home season will conclude Sunday afternoon when the women take on Colorado State-Pueblo at 11:30 a.m., and the men take on Fort Lewis at 2 p.m.
