COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After giving up two goals to Colorado Mesa (8-1-3 / 5-1-2 RMAC) in the first half, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (9-2-1 / 5-2-1 RMAC) answered with two goals of its own to force a tie with the Mavericks today in Mountain Lion Stadium.

The Mountain Lions gave up an early goal in the seventh minute and another goal in the 38th minute to fall behind 2-0 in the first half. JesseGreulich kept it from being a shutout in the first half with a header in the 42nd minute off a corner kick from Ella Bump that found the top corner of the net. UCCS out-shot Colorado Mesa 9-to-7 during the first half and trailed by a goal at the break.

The Mountain Lions tied the game in the 56th minute when Jade Hilbert tucked the ball into the bottom left corner of the net off of passes from Agnes Arnadottir and Hannah Levett. The game remained tied throughout the rest of the half even with a combined 23 shots from the team in the period.

Defense dominated the first overtime period after UCCS held the Mavericks to a single shot in the extra 10-minute frame. Colorado Mesa answered with four corner kicks during the second overtime, but couldn't convert on any of the set pieces as the contest ended the first tie for the Mountain Lions this season.

Arnadottir's assist moved her into third in all-time program records in career points with her assist to Hilbert. Levett also moved into a tie for fourth in the career points lists on the same scoring play.

The Mountain Lions stand in a tie for third in the RMAC standings with Regis, after the Rangers lost to Metro State today in Denver. Both the Mountain Lions and Rangers have six games remaining in the conference schedule but no games left against each other.
