Link named RMAC defensive player of the week
Senior Lindsay Link of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the RMAC announced Tuesday.
As sweeper, Link was the organizer and last line of defense for the Mountain Lions, who allowed a combined five shots (two shots on goal) in their first two matches. Against McPherson, a 4-1 win, UCCS allowed just four shots and against Northern State, a 3-0 win, UCCS allowed just one.
Link is one of five UCCS seniors to have played for the Mountain Lions since the program's inception in 2008. The others are Julia Saenz, Kristin Preble, Jessika Williams and Jessica Escobedo. Link has been a defensive starter all four years.
