Women's soccer team adds three for 2011 season
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs women's soccer program announced Monday the signing of three recruits. Joining the Mountain Lions for the 2011 season will be Hannah Rather of James Madison Memorial High School in Madison, Wis., Alexis Michaelkovich from Sand Creek High School in Colorado Springs and Hannah Levett from Middle park High School in Granby, Colo.
Rather had 25 goals and 14 assists in her first three seasons of high school soccer, including 13 goals and eight assists as a junior. Her team went 20-2-3 overall in 2010 and a perfect 9-0 in winning the Big Eight Conference Championship. The Spartans went on to become a WIAA Division 1 Sectional Semifinalist.
She has also played the past four seasons with the Middleton Yahara Soccer Club, where her team was the Wisconsin State Cup Champions in 2007 and 2009.
Michaelkovich led Sand Creek in both goals and assists as a sophomore and a junior. She was team captain as a junior this past season and will be again in her upcoming senior year. She was named to the Class 5A Metro League's second team.
She has been a member of the Pride Soccer Club and was on the 93 Copa Team as well as the Olympic Developmental Teams in 2007 and 2008.
A four-year starter, Levett set a Middle Park HS school record for goals in a season with 22 and also had 10 assists as a junior, breaking the previous mark that was set by current UCCS player Lindsey Birdseye. Levett was named All-Region 3 first team as a sophomore and as a junior and was the first Middle Park sophomore to be so honored. In addition, she was named Academic All-State First Team.
Levett played for the Colorado Force Super 20 Club Team and was her team's captain in 2010. She broke her own club record by scoring 27 goals this past season and led her team to second place in their division in the Colorado State league and a Gold Medal at the Colorado Shootout.
