By Chris Spomer published August 19, 2010

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs' senior defender Jaron Stewart was selected Preseason All-RMAC in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's preseason men's soccer coaches poll. Stewart, the Mountain Lions anchor on defense, has started every game for the Mountain Lions the past two seasons.

The Mountain Lions were picked to finish fifth in the conference receiving 40 points. Mesa State also received 40 points, both teams finishing ten points behind fourth place Regis (30 points). As defending Division II National Champions, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks (8) were again picked to win the conference.

Conference coaches ranked each team 1-13, excluding their own team, with one being the best and 13 the worst. Those rankings were totaled to provide the points.

The coaches also voted midfielder Steven Emory of Metro State as the Preseason RMAC Player of the Year. Defender Jamie Cunningham of Fort Lewis was voted the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining Stewart, Emory and Cunningham as Preseason All-RMAC selections are Emory's teammate Scott Grode, Cunningham's teammates Fabian Kling and Kyle Wood, Chike Sullivan, Manville Strand and Jacob Juett of Colorado Mines, and Kyle Emge and Gary Cole of Regis.
