Preble, Six Other Mountain Lion Named Academic All-RMAC

By Chris Spomer published October 15, 2009

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs sophomore Kristin Preble has been named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic First Team for the 2009 season, the conference announced Thursday.

Preble has earned a 3.968 grade point average in the College of Business as a Sport Management Major. RMAC guidelines do not allow freshman athletes to be nominated for this honor, so Preble was not eligible last season.

Starting every game this year, Preble is the Mountain Lions' top midfielder. She leads the team in goals, assists, and total points.

Teammates Josi Heer and Brianna Guzzardo were named to the RMAC Women's Soccer All-Academic Second Team for their work in both the classroom and on the field.

Jessika Williams, Kelby Petry, Halleigh Loucks, Lindsay Link and Jennifer Joern also received recognition as they were all named honorable mention for the 2009 All-Academic Team.
