Sunday's game postponed
Sunday's women's soccer match between the Regis Rangers and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs at Mountain Lion Stadium has been postponed due to unsafe field conditions.
The weather forecast from the previous day called for sunshine and temperatures in to 40s. The sun never broke through the dense blanket of haze enveloping Colorado Springs, however, leaving the field covered with sharp shards of ice and the temperature at a frigid 23 degrees. Game officials and both coaches agreed that playing the game would present a hazard to the players.
The game has been tentatively rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, but that will have to be coordinated with other UCCS departments before the 'tentative' qualifier can be removed. UCCS officials hope to have the date and time confirmed on Monday.
