UCCS goalkeeper Liszewski named RMAC defensive player of the week
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs goalkeeper Adam Liszewski was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference defensive player of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.
The junior from Mesa, Ariz., has had 186:34 consecutive scoreless minutes. His two straight shutouts against Colorado Christian (W, 3-0) and CSU-Pueblo (W, 1-0) led UCCS to its first two game-winning streak of the season. He posted two saves against CCU and three against CSUP.
For the season, Liszewski has three shutouts , a 1.93 goals against average and has a 69.2 save percentage.
Liszewski is the first UCCS men's soccer player to be named player of the week since Bryan Stoeber was named offensive player of the week way back on Sept. 4, 2007. The last Mountain Lion to be named defensive player of the week was Isaac Kostro on Oct. 3, 2006.
