Bettner named to preseason all-RMAC team

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs senior midfielder Jeff Bettner was named to the preseason all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conferenceâ€TMs team, the RMAC announced Tuesday.

The rest of the Mountain Lions fared less favorably in the preseason coachesâ€TM poll, being selected to finish seventh in the eight-team RMAC.

Division II powerhouse Fort Lewis was picked to win the RMAC in a vote of conference coaches. Regis was picked second and Metro State was third.

Bettner, who scored four goals in 2007, heads a young UCCS roster under first-year coach Henry Ellis. The Mountain Lions will field a team of three seniors, three juniors, 13 sophomores and 10 freshmen.
