Soccer: Stoeber named RMAC offensive player of the week
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs forward Bryan Stoeber was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's soccer offensive player of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Stoeber recorded a goal and four shots (three on goal) in a 2-1 loss to St. Mary's on Friday. Two days later at Eastern New Mexico, he added an assist and two shots (both on goal) in the 4-2 loss. Combined, he recorded a goal and an assist for three points, and six shots, five of which were on goal.
"Bryan's worked very hard over the summer," said UCCS coach Flavio Mazzetti. "It's nice to see him get some recognition."
The sophomore from Widefield was the RMAC freshman of the year for 2006 after recording seven goals and four assists, both team highs.
It was Stoeber's first career player of the week award.
