CU-Colorado Springs blanks Regis 3-0 in men's soccer season opener
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Rob Weber and Drew Mersereau each scored a goal and added an assist Sunday to lead the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to a 3-0 victory over Regis University at 4-Diamond Complex in the season opener for each team.
Weber's goal put the Mountain Lions up 2-0 in the 32nd minute as he put in a rebound off a Mersereau shot that was saved by Regis goalie Heath Kidd. Mersereau then scored the final tally of the game in the 65th minute off a feed from Weber. Adrian Marrero scored the game's initial goal, deflecting a shot taken by teammate James Bisgard past Kidd.
