Gold soccer team defeats DU

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Freshman Rob Weber scored the only goal of the game and junior Greg Meyer made six saves as the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs soccer team defeated the University of Denver 1-0 Friday at 4-Diamond Complex.

Both teams missed excellent scoring opportunities as DU failed to convert two penalty kicks and the Gold was thwarted on several point blank shots by Pioneer goalie Ken Jefferies.

CU-Colorado Springs, currently ranked No. 10 in the NCAA Division II Far West Region, improved its record to 5-3-1, and the Pioneers fell to 2-6-2.
