6/5/2023 10:00:00 AM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball head coach Ricki Rothbauer Stubbs has resigned from her post, announced this morning by Executive Director of Athletics Nathan Gibson.  Rothbauer Stubbs is leaving the coaching field and has accepted an athletic administrator position outside of UCCS.

"I would like to thank Ricki for all that she has done during her time at UCCS and I wish her the best," said Gibson. "I am excited about the future of Mountain Lion Softball and know we will find a great coach to lead this program moving forward.  I know we have the campus, resources and support to be a top RMAC softball program and I am looking forward to begin the process to bring in the next head coach."

Prior to joining the Mountain Lions in 2016, Rothbauer Stubbs was the head coach at Texas A&M University-Kingsville for four seasons before spending the 2015 season leading Northwestern Oklahoma State University.  In eight seasons at the helm of the UCCS softball program, Rothbauer Stubbs owned a 161-203 record and qualified for the post-season four times.

A national search for the Mountain Lions next head coach will begin in the near future and posted on here.
