University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Volleyball player
Laura Brodie was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference offensive player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Brodie's 18 kills and .643 hitting percentage against Colorado Mines were not only career highs, they were the best marks posted by a Mountain Lion player this season.
The Mountain Lions have now won eight straight matches, equaling the school record set in 2001. During that streak, Brodie has averaged 2.96 kills per set and has hit .464.
For the season, the freshman has had 171 kills, averaging 2.31 kills per game, and a hitting percentage of .390.
Brodie is the second UCCS volleyball player to be named offensive player of the week this year.
Cindy Bathelt was named setter of the week on October 13, 2009.
