Dig Pink this Saturday Night for the UCCS volleyball game against Metro State

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - October is breast cancer awareness month. The UCCS volleyball team will stage its annual Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Match on Saturday, Oct. 27 when the Mountain Lions take on Metro State at the Gallogly Events Center.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Side-Out Foundation, which was established in 2004 to unite volleyball players and coaches and have them work toward the common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, education and patient services.

Side-Out supports teams nationwide in their volleyball tournaments, clinics and other fundraising efforts.  The foundation offers practical support for fundraising in addition to educational material for participants in order to help them become effective advocates for breast cancer.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink on Saturday evening.

The Mountain Lions volleyball team invites fans to also find out more information on how to support Sisters HOPE, which supports the HOPE (Healing Opportunities through Personal EnrichmentTM) retreat for breast cancer survivors.
