COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team will travel to Alamosa on Tuesday, November 13 to play in a quarterfinal matchup of the 2012 RMAC tournament against Adams State at 7 p.m.
UCCS (18-10, 12-7 RMAC) finished in a three way tie with Colorado Christian and Western New Mexico. UCCS falls behind Colorado Christian in the rankings because although the teams split their heads-up matches this season, the Cougars won the tie breaker which is the sets records. They beat UCCS 3-0, whereas UCCS beat them 3-1.
UCCS also shares the same record as Western New Mexico, but holds the tie breaker due to winning the only match the teams had against each other this season on October 4.
The  No. 6 seed UCCS, will take on the No. 3 seed Adams State (23-4, 16-30) for the second time this season. The Mountain Lions enter the match second in the RMAC in total blocks, led by the RMAC defensive player of the week
Nikki Kinzer, who leads the nation in blocks per set.
The Grizzles finished the regular season as the No. 1 team in the West Division of the RMAC and are currently on a 10 match winning streak. The Grizzles are led by their setter, Gabriella Rifilato, who is second in the RMAC in assists per set and their middle hitter, Megan Tapia, who is second in the RMAC in hitting percentage.
