Kinzer Receives RMAC Degree Completion Award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs All-American Nikki Kinzer was one of several RMAC student-athletes to receive a Degree Completion Award from the conference to assist in costs to finish her education. The award allows student-athletes who have completed their athletic eligibility to complete their degree within the academic year of the award.

The selection was made by the RMAC Degree Completion Awards Committee, which is made of the RMAC Academic Committee and two Faculty Athletic Representatives nominated by the conference FAR Council.

Kinzer was the first volleyball All-American in UCCS history and finished with the program record for career block assists. She finished her senior season as the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, led NCAA Division II in blocks per set and was a four-time conference defensive player of the year. Kinzer was the UCCS female recipient of the RMAC Scholar-Athlete Award the last two seasons and was the department's McLaughlin Award winner in the 2011-12 academic year.

Kinzer will complete her student teaching in 2013-14 and will graduate with a degree in English for secondary education.
