Derrick White picked up his third All-America honor of the season with a Second Team selection to the Division II Bulletin All-America team. He's also been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America Team and the Daktronics All-America Second Team.
White finished the 2014-15 season as the Division II statistical champion with 851 points and 274 made free throws. He was second in the nation with 25.8 points per game, third with 265 made field goals and No. 12 with 68 blocked shots. He broke the RMAC single-season scoring record, the UCCS single-game scoring record with 50 points in the NCAA First Round Game and holds the UCCS career scoring record with 1,912 points.
White also holds the UCCS career record with 343 assists and the season record with 171. He is fourth in program records with 513 career rebounds and fifth with 244 rebounds this season. White also is third in UCCS records with 11 assists in a game, a mark he reached three times this season. He is on pace to break the career scoring average record with 22.0 points per game.
White was a member of the Daktronics All-Region First Team, the NABC All-Region First Team, the All-South Central Tournament Team, the All-RMAC First Team and was the Most Valuable Player of the RMAC Tournament. He was a two-time national player of the week and an eight-time conference player of the week.Â
UCCS won its first RMAC Tournament championship and won its first NCAA tournament game in program history. The Mountain Lions were ranked as high as No. 2 in the NABC Division II poll, started the season with a program-record 14 game winning streak and set a program record with 27 wins.
