Mountain Lions Earn 8th Seed in RMAC Tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs used a three-match win streek at the end of the regular season to claim the No. 8 seed in the 2014 RMAC Volleyball Tournament. The Mountain Lions (12-15) will face top seed Colorado Mesa (24-3) on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m., in Brownson Arena in Grand Junction, Colo.

Tuesday's quarterfinal match will be the first meeting between the two teams this season, as each RMAC team will not face one other conference opponent in the regular season. UCCS advanced to the tournament for the first time under Head Coach Chrissy Elder, and did so with a team of nine true freshmen.

The Mountain Lions tied for seventh with Adams State in the final standings, but the Grizzlies earned the seventh seed with a win against UCCS in September. A win in the quarterfinals will pair the Mountain Lions with the winner of the Regis and Colorado State-Pueblo match on Friday at a time and location to be announced on Wednesday.
