Potts Invitational canceled

The Potts Track & Field Invitational, which was scheduled for Saturday in Boulder, has been canceled. The UCCS track & field team will next compete at the Colorado School of Mines Invitational in Golden, Colo., on March 27.

Softball

Snow forces schedule changes

The spring storm that paralyzed much of Colorado Friday has also forced some changes to the UCCS softball schedule. The four-game series against Adams State, which was originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Alamosa, will instead be played on Sunday and Monday. The doubleheader against Eastern New Mexico scheduled for Monday at Mountain Lion Field has been canceled.

Good pitching performances go to waste as Balogh, Orediggers sweep UCCS

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs pitchers Jenna Mott and Stacy Ortiz were good, but Libby Balogh and the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers were better as they swept the Mountain Lions 5-0, 5-0 at Mountain Lion Field.

Offensive barrage not enough to end Mountain Lions six-game losing streak

Twenty-one runs, 27 hits, 14 walks and four RBIs each by Jessika Anastos, Lara Mathewson and Amanda Hathaway weren’t enough to squelch the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs’ losing streak as the Mountain Lions were swept 16-15 and 11-6 by Western New Mexico Sunday at Mustang Field.
