Tilghman Earns Spot on RMAC All-Academic First Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs senior golfer Michael Tilghman earned a spot on the RMAC All-Academic Men's Golf Team released this afternoon. Senior Spencer Biersdorff was named to the Second Team while Patrick Skakel was on the Honor Roll.

Tilghman competed in four tournaments for the Mountain Lions in 2012-13 and finished with his best tournament score at the Oredigger Invitational in September. He has a 3.826 grade point average in business finance with an economics minor and was a member of the UCCS Dean's List last fall.

Biersdorff was an All-RMAC Second Team selection after he was part of the UCCS conference championship team last week. He's finished in the top 15 in three of the last four tournaments. Biersdorff is a finance major with a 3.396 grade point average and was on the UCCS Dean's List last fall.

Skakel competed in four tournaments for the Mountain Lions this year and finished as high as No. 21 at the Oredigger Invitational last September. He's a sport management major with a 3.635 grade point average.

To qualify for the All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must have a 3.30 grade point average in at least two semesters of attendance at the current institution. The sports information directors at the RMAC schools that sponsor men's golf vote on the first and second teams.
