UCCS Improves to Sixth in New NCAA Regional Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team improved to sixth in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings released this afternoon. The improvement comes as the Mountain Lions head into the final tournament before the regional field is announced next Friday.
The improvement comes after UCCS won its first tournament of the season earlier this week at the Colorado State-Pueblo Wolf Pack Invitational. The Mountain Lions also improved No. 36 in the Division II GolfStat team rankings.
Eddie DeLashmutt finished second at the Wolf Pack Invite and is the top-ranked Mountain Lions in the GolfStat individual rankings at No. 52. Kevin Witte is ranked No. 68 in the national rankings after his third-place finish earlier this week. Spencer Biersdorff is No. 118 in the individual rankings after his first top-five finish of the season this week.
The Mountain Lions begin the championship portion of the schedule next week at the RMAC Championships. Action takes place April 22-23 at The Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
