COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs senior Kevin Witte earned the RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week honors announced this afternoon at the conference. Witte finished second at the St. Edward's Invitational last week and is the second Mountain Lion to earn the golf award in 2012-13.

Witte finished with a three round score of 215 last Monday and Tuesday to lead the Mountain Lions in the first spring event of the season. He shot 67 for 5-under par in the first round and led the field after the second round. Witte was the only golfer to shoot under 70 in the first two rounds, and was one of two golfers to finish the three rounds under par after strong winds hampered the field on the final day.

Witte is the second Mountain Lion to earn the weekly golf awards from the RMAC. Grant Dean won the first award of the season after the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Sept. 13. UCCS is the first team in the conference with two golfers to win the award in 2012-13.

UCCS will compete against at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational March 25-26 in Phoenix, Ariz.
