NCAA Postseason Fields to be Released Friday Afternoon

INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will find out which teams it will face in the postseason when the NCAA releases the qualifiers for the Division II regional championships on Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. MDT. UCCS earned the automatic qualifier as the champion of the RMAC tournament earlier this week.

In the South Central Region, UCCS will be joined by Dallas Baptist from the Heartland Conference and Midwestern State from the Lone Star Conference as the automatic qualifiers. Seven at-large teams and four individuals not from a qualifying team will be selected by the committee.

The 20 teams and eight individuals will compete in 54 holes of stroke play, which is the same format the UCCS has used in every regular season meet of the season. The top eight teams after the 54 holes will be placed into a bracket and seeded based on their score. Match play will then determine the regional champions and the qualifiers for the national championships.

The South Central Region will be paired with the West Region and compete at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash., on May 6-8. The top five teams from the combined regional championships will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships May 20-24 at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
