UCCS Remains Eighth in New NCAA Regional Ranking
INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team remained in eighth in the new NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings released this afternoon.
The Mountain Lions remained in eighth after the Saint Martin's Preview earlier this week, when they placed higher than two teams ranked ahead of them in the most recent ranking. UCCS finished sixth in the preview, seven strokes ahead of second-ranked Colorado Mines and 10 strokes ahead of sixth-ranked Colorado State-Pueblo.
Kevin Witte leads three Mountain Lions who are ranked in the top 150 of the GolfStat Division II individual rankings. Witte, a two-time RMAC Golfer of the Week, is ranked No. 86 ahead of No. 92 Eddie DeLashmutt, who is the defending RMAC Golfer of the Week. Spencer Biersdorff is also ranked No. 131.
The Mountain Lions will be in action at the CSU-Pueblo Wolf Pack Invitational April 15-16 at the Walking Stick Golf Course. It will be the final event before the championship schedule begins April 22-23 at the RMAC Championships in Phoenix, Ariz.
