UCCS Eighth in First NCAA Regional Ranking
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs is eighth in the first NCAA Division II South Central Region Rankings. The top 10 teams in the region will advance to the Division II West / South Central Regional Championships in DuPont, Wash.
The Mountain Lions are one of four RMAC teams mentioned in the top 10, along with Colorado Mines, Colorado State-Pueblo and Western New Mexico. UCCS has faced each of the regionally-ranked teams during the spring season and tied the seventh-ranked team, Dallas Baptist, at the St. Edward's Invitational to start the spring season.
UCCS is receiving votes in the latest GolfWorld / Nike Golf national poll. Kevin Witte, Spencer Biersdorff, Grant Dean and Eddie DeLashmutt are each ranked among the top 150 golfers in Division II In the most recent GolfStat rankings.
The Mountain Lions will compete on the same course that will be used for the regional championships on April 8-9 at the Division II Spring Preview.
