Mountain Lions Receiving Votes in New GolfWorld National Poll
NEW YORK CITY - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf continues to receive votes in latest GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll released on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions are also No. 44 in the new GolfStat Division II Men's Relative Ranking.
UCCS is receiving three votes and is one of three RMAC teams ranked or receiving mention in the coaches poll. Colorado Mines leads the conference in No. 21, while Colorado State-Pueblo is also receiving nine votes. Mines and Pueblo both competed at the weather-shortened Bob Writz Invitational last weekend in Denver.
The Mountain Lions also rank No. 44 in the new GolfStat rankings and is one of three teams in the conference in the top 50. Grant Dean is the top-ranked UCCS golfer in the individual rankings at No. 116. Spencer Biersdorff is also ranked among the top 150 individuals in Division II at No. 130.
UCCS will travel back to Arizona for the second straight week to compete at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
