UCCS Finishes 8th in St. Edward's Invite
AUSTIN, Texas - Grant Dean lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the third round of the St. Edward's Invitational and Kevin Witte finished second in the overall results through all three rounds as the Mountain Lions closed out the invitational earlier today. UCCS finished in a tie for eighth in the 16-team field.
Golfers contended with sustained winds of 15 miles per hours through most of the day and wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. Dean shot six strokes over par with a 78 to rank in the top 20 of golfers on the second day. He finished third for UCCS overall with a score of 235 in three rounds.
Witte finished second overall with a 215 and was one of two golfers to finish the invitational under par. He shot a 79 today and finished two strokes behind the leader.
Spencer Biersdorff finished second for the Mountain Lions during the three rounds with an 80 today and a 231 overall. Patrick Skakel provided the final score for UCCS with an 86 and an overall total of 238.
Up Next: UCCS will be back on the course for the Grand Canyon Spring Invitational March 24-25 at the Wigwam Golf Course in Phoenix.
