Mountain Lions Finish Third at Opening RMAC Event

MONTROSE, Colo. - Spencer Biersdorff shot one stroke over par in the third and final round of the opening RMAC event of the season to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf today at The Bridges at Black Canyon Golf Course this morning in Montrose. Grant Dean finished in a tie for second overall as the Mountain Lions placed third among the 10 conference teams.

Biersdorff turned in the eighth-best performance of today's round with a 72 to mark continued improvement on the course through each round. He finished in a tie for eighth overall at six strokes over par.

Dean finished the tournament at four strokes over par to tie with four other golfers for the runner-up spot. The group finished five strokes behind Colorado State-Pueblo's Sean Thomas, who finished with a final score of 215 for two strokes over par.

Eddie DeLashmutt and Conrad Isley both finished the third round with scores of 75 to complete the Mountain Lion scoring for today's action. DeLashmutt ended in a tie for No. 10 overall and Isley in a tie for No. 18 overall as UCCS finished with a team score of 298.

The Mountain Lions will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday for the second RMAC event of the season, hosted by Colorado School of Mines at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood, Colo.
