Dean Leading Field; UCCS Tied for Lead After First Two Rounds of RMAC Event

MONTROSE, Colo. - Grant Dean holds a two-stroke lead and is leading the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team to the top of the standings after the first two rounds of the first RMAC event of the season today at The Bridges at Black Canyon Golf Course.

The Mountain Lions improved five strokes from the first to second rounds as a team and is tied with Colorado School of Mines at 13 strokes over par. UCCS shot 288 on the second round on the par-71 course in Montrose, Colo., and is five shots ahead of third-place Western New Mexico.

Dean, the defending RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week, improved in his second round and is one stroke under par through the first two rounds of the tournament. Eddie DeLashmutt shot one stroke under par in the second round and sits three strokes over par after both rounds and stands in a tie for seventh overall.

Spencer Biersdorff improved on his second round and shot five strokes over par during the first two rounds to tie for No. 10 after today. Conrad Isley finished in a tie for No. 18 after the first two rounds after he shot two strokes over par in the opening round, but Kevin Witte's 75 in the second round contributed to the Mountain Lions' performance in the final 18 holes of the day.

The Mountain Lions will be back in action tomorrow morning for the third and final round at The Bridges.
