UCCS Finishes 10th at Miranda Falcon Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Eddie DeLashmutt shot three strokes over par to lead the University of Colorado Springs on the final round as the Mountain Lions finished in a tie for No. 10 at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational this morning at the Eisenhower Golf Course. The Mountain Lions were the only Division II team among 15 other Division I teams.

Grant Dean led UCCS overall with three shots over par over three rounds. He shot 77 today and finished in a tie for No. 20 overall. He finished one stroke ahead of DeLashmutt overall and three strokes ahead of Spencer Biersdorff, who shot a 78 today.

Conrad Isley rounded out the scoring golfers for UCCS and tied for No. 35 overall with a round of 77 today. Patrick Skakel wasn't include into the team score, but turned in the second-best round by the Mountain Lions today with four strokes over par.

UCCS, who was receiving votes in the preseason GolfWorld/Nike Division II rankings, finished ahead of teams from the Big 12 (Kansas), Mountain West (Wyoming) and Big Sky (Southern Utah, Weber State) Conferences.

Up Next: UCCS will compete in the first RMAC tournament of the year next Monday and Tuesday in Montrose, Colo. Colorado Mesa will host the tournament at The Bridges at Black Canyon Golf Course.
