Tilghmann and Dean receive RMAC Golf Academic Awards
Colorado Springs, CO: Mountain Lions Michael Tilghman and Grant Dean were both honored by the RMAC this week when they were both names to All-Conference Academic teams.
Tilghman, a Senior from Castle Rock, CO, received First Team Honors as he currently carries a 3.83 GPA in the prestigious UCCS College of Business.
Dean, a Junior from Queen Creek, AZ, holds an impressive 3.47 GPA in Biochemistry. Dean was named to the Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. Graduate students must have earned a 3.30 in their undergrad and graduate classes. RMAC Sports Information Directors at schools that sponsor the sport of men's golf selected first and second team Academic All-RMAC. The SIDs took into consideration the student-athlete's work in the classroom as well as the playing field.

| April 3, 2012 | Mountain Lions win the Skyhawk Desert Shootout, DeLashmutt wins individuval title | The UCCS men's golf team continued their Spring season this week by winning the Skyhawk Desert Shootout hosted in Palm Desert, CA. Not only will the team take the tournament title home, but Eddie DeLashmutt won the individual title as well. DeLashmutt, following up his recent RMAC Golfer of the Week honor, shot 225 over three rounds to take the individual title. One shot behind DeLashmutt was teammate Spencer Biersdoff, who finished tied for 2nd place with his stellar three rounds. | March 29, 2012 | Eddie DeLashmutt RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week | UCCS Mountain Lion Eddie Delashmutt shot a nine-under par (207) to tie for first place out of 100 golfers at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invite in Litchfield Park, Arizona (Wigwam Golf Course). He carded a 69 in each of the three rounds, helping the Mountain Lions finish third out of 20 teams. | |
| March 28, 2012 | #20 Mountain Lion take 3rd at the Grand Canyon University Invite | The UCCS men's golf team continued their Spring season by traveling to Grand Canyon University to compete in the Thunderbird Invite this past week. The Mountain Lion continued to impress, playing against some of the best competition that NCAA Division II has to offer, finishing 3rd overall in the tournament. Impressively, the Mountain Lions were led by Eddie DeLashmutt who shot 69 in all three of his rounds at the long, tough Wigwam Golf Course. DeLashmutt finished tied for 1st overall among individual finishers. | |
