Eddie DeLashmutt RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week
Phoenix. AZ: UCCS Mountain Lion Eddie Delashmutt shot a nine-under par (207) to tie for first place out of 100 golfers at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invite in Litchfield Park, Arizona (Wigwam Golf Course). He carded a 69 in each of the three rounds, helping the Mountain Lions finish third out of 20 teams.
The DeLashmutt led Mountain Lions third place finish spoke volumes about their play given the incredibly tough field of teams and individual players. CSU-Stanislaus, the #3 team in Division II, won the tournament, while #10 Western Washington took second. The Mountain Lions finished higher than the #8 and #11 teams in Division II, Abilene Christian (4th Place) and Grand Canyon (5th Place). Individually, DeLashmutt tied for first with CSU-Stanislaus Trevor Blair, who is widely knows as one of the top individual golfers in D-II.
This is the first player of the week honor for a Mountain Lion during the Spring and first for DeLashmutt. This past October, Spencer Biersdorff was named RMAC Golfer of the Week.
