Biersdorff Paces UCCS Golfers into First-Round Lead
GOTHENBURG, Neb. - Behind a 4-under par 68 by Spencer Biersdorff, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs finished the first round of the NSIC/RMAC Crossover Tournament in first place on Sunday at Wild Horse Golf Club.
The second round, which also began on Sunday, was suspended due to darkness. It will be finished early Monday and will be followed immediately by the third round.
The Mountain Lions shot a team score of 290 (2-over par), six strokes better than Colorado State-Pueblo and Colorado School of Mines. St. Cloud State was fourth at 287, followed by Minnesota-Crookston and Western New Mexico at 300.
Biersdorff's 68 put him in first place individually. Minnesota-Crookston's Jesse Roscoe was second, two strokes behind. Edward Delashmutt was second among UCCS golfers and third overall at 71.
The rest of the UCCS contingent were Grant Dean at 75, Kevin Witte at 76 and Mitch Buchner at 82.

|April 3, 2012||Mountain Lions win the Skyhawk Desert Shootout, DeLashmutt wins individuval title||The UCCS men's golf team continued their Spring season this week by winning the Skyhawk Desert Shootout hosted in Palm Desert, CA. Not only will the team take the tournament title home, but Eddie DeLashmutt won the individual title as well. DeLashmutt, following up his recent RMAC Golfer of the Week honor, shot 225 over three rounds to take the individual title. One shot behind DeLashmutt was teammate Spencer Biersdoff, who finished tied for 2nd place with his stellar three rounds. Grant Dean was the third top finisher for the Mountain Lions, as he finished tied for 7th place. The overall individual results were as follows:|
|March 29, 2012||Eddie DeLashmutt RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week||UCCS Mountain Lion Eddie Delashmutt shot a nine-under par (207) to tie for first place out of 100 golfers at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invite in Litchfield Park, Arizona (Wigwam Golf Course). He carded a 69 in each of the three rounds, helping the Mountain Lions finish third out of 20 teams.|
|March 28, 2012||#20 Mountain Lion take 3rd at the Grand Canyon University Invite||The UCCS men's golf team continued their Spring season by traveling to Grand Canyon University to compete in the Thunderbird Invite this past week. The Mountain Lion continued to impress, playing against some of the best competition that NCAA Division II has to offer, finishing 3rd overall in the tournament. Impressively, the Mountain Lions were led by Eddie DeLashmutt who shot 69 in all three of his rounds at the long, tough Wigwam Golf Course. DeLashmutt finished tied for 1st overall among individual finishers.|
