By Alex Sommers published November 17, 2011

The final Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll of the fall season was released Wednesday with the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs taking the 10th spot. The poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Additionally, the Mountain Lions are ranked ninth in the Golfstat head-to-head rankings.

UCCS moved into the top ten in the coaches' poll to end the season after being ranked 12th in the previous poll. The Mountain Lions won three of five tournaments they entered in the fall season including a miraculous victory in the Falcon Invitational at the Air Force Academy where they defeated seventeen Division I teams to which Golf Week said, "the Division I teams were no match for CU-Colorado Springs." They also got second place in the two tournaments that they didn't win (2nd of 18 and 2nd of 20).

The rest of the top ten were: 1. North Alabama, 2. Lynn, 3. Western Washington, 4. Chico State, 5. Central Oklahoma, 6. Abilene Christian, 7. tie between Columbus State and Sonoma State, and 9. West Florida.

The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III and the NAIA, will appear in the November 22 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online: http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/blogs/campusinsider.
