Mountain Lions in 15th After Two Rounds at Air Force Tournament
US AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Tyler Bishop shot a 2-over par 146 Saturday to lead the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs into 15th place after two rounds of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at Eisenhower Blue Golf Course.
Bishop's low score was only good enough to tie him for 22nd individually in the tournament, which features 16 NCAA Division I schools along with Division II UCCS.
Colorado State's Bryce Hanstad was the tournament leader at 6-under par after two rounds, both of which were played Saturday. Washington State's Kevin Tucker and Colorado State's Riley Arp were tied for second at 5-under par.
Colorado State and UNLV were tied for the team lead at 560. Washington State was a distant third at 578, followed by New Mexico (579), Air Force (586) and Southern Utah (588).
UCCS' team score of 608 has the Mountain Lions four strokes behind 14th-place Long Beach State and 14 strokes behind 13th-place Utah.
Riley Andrews was second among UCCS golfers at 152 (8-over par). Davis Cosel shot a 153, Brian Morfeld a 157 and Kevin Chan a 169.
The third and final round will be played Sunday morning.
