Mountain Lions Finish SoCal Intercollegiate in Eighth-Place Tie

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. -- Tyler Bishop shot an even-par 70 in Tuesday's final round to lead the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to an eighth-place finish at the 58th-annual Southern California Intercollegiate at the Marbella Country Club.

Bishop had a three-round score of 215 (5-over par) to finish in a seventh-place tie individually. Teammates Todd Napikowski and Eric Winder each struggled in the final round, shooting 81 and 82 respectively. Napikowski's total of 227 put him in 42nd place while Winder was 43rd, one stroke back. Brian Morfeld (231) and David Cosel (235) rounded out the UCCS contingent.

The Mountain Lions' team score of 889 tied them for eighth with Central Oklahoma, which came into the tournament ranked No. 10 nationally. UCCS also finished ahead of No. 14 Abilene Christian.

The Mountain Lions came in ranked No. 19.

Lynn University shot a three-round score of 861 to win the team title, defeating runner-up St. Edward's (867). The individual title went to Micah Burke of Cal State San Bernardino with a 203 (-7) score. Lucas Delgado of Chico State, Scott Aydelotte and Patricio Salem of Lynn all shot 209 (-1) to finish in a tie for second.
