Winder leads UCCS at Grand Canyon Invitational

Eric Winder shot the best round of the day, a 7-under par 65, in the first round of the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational as the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs finished Mondayâ€TMs two rounds tied for ninth place.

Winder added a 73 in Mondayâ€TMs second round at the Estrella Mountain Ranch Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. The junior from Grand Junction will enter Tuesdayâ€TMs final round one stroke out of the lead.

Two Cal State-Bakersfield golfers, Brady Paguio and Nick Bell, and Abilene Christianâ€TMs Hugues Joannes are tied for the individual lead.

Abilene Christian also held the team lead Monday at 567. Cal State-Stanislaus is one stroke behind and Cal State-Bakersfield is three strokes back.

UCCS shot a 583 to tie Texas Wesleyan for ninth place.

Kyle Logan was second among Mountain Lion golfers with a two-round score of 146, which tied him for 32nd individually. Tyler Bishop carded a 150, good for 56th while Ros McDermott and Trent Daum each shot 152.
