Wortmann nabs sixth golfer of the week award

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs senior Chase Wortmann was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference golfer of the week for the sixth time this season, the conference announced Friday.

Wortmann led all golfers at the Spring Head-to-Head meet, shooting a 6-over par 219. His lowest round of the meet was round one when he shot a 71 and led the Mountain Lions to a third place finish. UCCS posted a team score of 908 (+24).

In eight meets this year, Wortmann has a 73.3 stroke average.

The 2005 RMAC Golfer of the Year, this is Wortmann's sixth golfer of the week accolade for 2005-06, the most in a single season by a single athlete in school history.
