Alex Kephart of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs shot a 5-over par 77 Sunday and will enter Mondayâ€TMs second round of the CSM/Regis Invitational in Denver in second place individually.

The Mountain Lions shot a 325 team score, good for third place after the first round. UCCS trails leader Regis by 11 strokes and second-place Colorado Mines by four strokes.

The Mountain Lions struggled not only with the 7,611-yard layout at Bear Creek Golf Club, but also with a stiff wind that buffeted the players throughout the day.

Trent Daum was second among UCCS golfers with an 82, a score that placed him tied for 11th overall. Chase Wortmann and Ross McDermott were each one stroke back of Daum, while Neil Huffaker shot an 85.

Regis had four players among the top 10, including leader Bonny Arranga who shot a 76.

Mondayâ€TMs round will be played at nearby Fox Hollow Golf Club.
