Freshman Kyle Logan shot an even-par 72 in the final round of the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational Tuesday to help the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs shoot a 298, the 10th-best round of the day, and finish 14th for the tournament.

The Mountain Lions finished with a three-round score of 898 at the Estrella Mountain Ranch Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz., just seven strokes behind No. 2-ranked Central Arkansas, which finished 13th.

Nevertheless, UCCSâ€TM No. 21 national ranking will likely suffer. Five of the teams that finished ahead of the Mountain Lions came into the tournament with a lower ranking.

Chase Wortmann, who has won three consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference golfer of the weeks awards, led UCCS with a score of 220 (4-over par), which tied him for 21st overall. Chris Smith was next among the Mountain Lions at 221, while Logan came in at 227, Alex Kephart shot 230 and John Scott had a 235.

Cal State-Bakersfield, which is ranked eighth nationally, shot a remarkable 9-under par 855 to win team honors. Cal State-Stanislaus was second, eight strokes back, and host Grand Canyon was third at even par.

Bakersfieldâ€TMs D.J. Fernando was the top individual at 7-under par.
