University of Colorado at Colorado Springs senior Chase Wortmann was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference male golfer of the week, the conference confirmed Thursday. It was the third time this season that Wortmann has won the RMACâ€TMs top individual honor making he and cross country runner Shannon Payne the first UCCS athletes to accomplish the feat three times in a season.

Wortmann was named the RMAC male golfer of the year on Tuesday when he was the top individual scorer at the RMAC Golf Championships at Cattails Golf Club in Alamosa, Colo. The conference confirmed Thursday that the winner of the RMAC Championships is automatically named the golfer of the week for that week.

Wortmann has won both Division II tournaments, the Northwest Region Fall Head-to-Head and the RMAC Championships, in which he has played this season. He finished 21st at the Division I Falcon Invitational on Sept. 10-11. He has not been beaten by a Division II golfer this season.
