Joe Saliba shot a 1-over par 72 in the second round of the 55th SoCal Intercollegiate Invitational as the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs finished Mondayâ€TMs play in 14th place.

Salibaâ€TMs round helped the Mountain Lions post a 310 in the second round after struggling with a 319 in the first round, which was played Monday morning. They trailed 13th-place Valdosta State, which is ranked 14th nationally, by four strokes entering the third and final round on Tuesday.

All 13 teams leading UCCS are ranked higher than the Mountain Lions, who are at No. 87 on Golfstatâ€TMs Division II list. Six of the teams are among the top 20. The SoCal Invitational traditionally draws one of the toughest Division II fields in college golf.

Salibaâ€TMs two-round score of 150 tied him for 19th overall. Other Mountain Lion competitors were John Scott (156), Trent Daum (158), Neil Huffaker (167) and Chase Wortmann (169).

No. 7-ranked Cal State-Bakersfield led the tournament.
