Golf team in 14th entering final round
After shooting a very strong score of 305 in the opening round, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs golf team slipped a bit in Mondayâ€TMs second round with a 321 that put the Mountain Lions in 14th place at the Aggie Invitational in El Macero, Calif.
CU-Colorado Springsâ€TM score of 626 is 16 strokes behind 13th-place St. Martinâ€TMs and 17 strokes behind 12th-place Grand Canyon. The Mountain Lions led both schools after Mondayâ€TMs first round. The final round of the tournament will be held on Tuesday.
Tournament host California-Davis leads the tournament with a two-round score of 578. Cal State-Chico is in second, one stroke back.
CU-Colorado Springsâ€TM Trent Daum shot a 1-over par 73 in the first round, but slipped to 80 in the second round. Nick Van Etten and Mark Ruybalid each shot a 76 in the first round before coming in at 79 and 81 respectively in the second.
