Online Numbers Strong Through June

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - GoMountainLions.com, the official online home for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, posted strong numbers for the month of June and the Mountain Lion social media accounts also experienced growth in the first full month of summer.

GoMountainLions.com experienced more than 7,300 pageviews on more than 5,600 visits. The year-to-date total from when the new site launched in December surpassed 90,000 pageviews and 65,000 visits during June, and traffic peaked during the month on June 3.

@GoMountainLions, the official Twitter account for UCCS athletics, also experienced growth with 22 new followers. The most popular stories were the announcement of the UCCS basketball games at Colorado State and the selection of Head Men's Golf Coach Phil Trujillo as the regional coach of the year. Kevin Witte's All-America selection for men's golf also ranked high among the most-interacted tweets for the Mountain Lions.

The Mountain Lions' Facebook page gained a net of seven new fans and experienced its most interaction on June 22 following the announcements on the CSU basketball games and Trujillo's coach of the year award. On YouTube, UCCS athletics surpassed the 10,000-view mark with 250 views. Instagram, the newest social media network for the Mountain Lions, maintained its following with 53 followers.

"Our focus during the month of June was the expansion of our records and history sections," said Jared Verner, UCCS Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information. "The summer staff has been working on digitizing our statistics and photos, and on expanding and reformatting our records and history. We've made great strides in these areas to provide a fuller context of our current accomplishments as we begin to shift for preparation of the 2013-14 season."
