Softball (22-12-1 / 17-8 RMAC)

  • The Mountain Lions travel for the final time during the regular season for a conference pod against Colorado Christian and Western New Mexico in Lakewood, Colo.
  • UCCS is fourth in the RMAC standings with eight games left in the conference schedule. The first NCAA regional rankings, which provide the look at the regional and national postseason picture, are scheduled to be released on Wednesday.
  • Payton Kornfield is seventh in Division II, and second among freshmen, with a batting average of .517. The Mountain Lions are ranked third as a team in the nation with .365.
  • A win this weekend would guarantee a spot in the RMAC tournament. It would be the second postseason appearance for the Mountain Lions in the last three seasons.

Men's Golf

  • UCCS will compete for the final time before the championship season begins at the Wolf Pack Invitational April 15-16 in Pueblo, Colo.
  • Eddie DeLashmutt became the third different Mountain Lion to earn RMAC Golfer of the Week honors this season. UCCS has had four student-athletes named the golfer of the week, the most for a conference team since UCCS did it in the 2008-09 season.
  • DeLashmutt finished third at the Saint Martin's Preview last week at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash. UCCS finished sixth in the team standings with the best team score of the spring season.
  • The Mountain Lions are eighth in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings and are receiving votes in the GolfWorld / Nike Golf national poll.

Men's Outdoor Track and Field

  • The Mountain Lions will split squads between four different meets this weekend in Colorado and California, highlighted by the 55th Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
  • Jonathan Wright, Carson Aberle and Andre Young have the fastest times in the RMAC for the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and 400-meter hurdles, respectively. Wright is also a member of the conference's fastest 4x400-meter relay team with Sam Marsh, Marc Hensley and Alan Ford.
  • Mike English ran the fastest 1,500-meter time for the Mountain Lions this season last Saturday with an altitude-adjusted time of 3:57.35. It's within a second of his time that ranks fifth in UCCS records.
  • Aberle, who will be competing at Mt. SAC, is ranked No. 12 in Division II with 1:51.70 in the 800-meter run. It's the fastest time run by a DII student-athlete at altitude this season.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field

  • UCCS will send Mountain Lions to four meets this weekend: Mt. SAC Relays, Beach Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational and the Western State Invitational.
  • Alex Colvin improved on her provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault with 12-3 1/2 at the West Texas A&M Open last Saturday. She's No. 11 in Division II and first in the RMAC.
  • Megan Burrell set the UCCS record in the 1,500-meter run with an altitude-adjusted time of 4:33.12 to provisionally qualify for the national championships. She's No. 13 in the Division II performance lists after her performance at CU-Boulder.
  • Jessica Todd improved to fourth in the Mountain Lion record books in the 200-meter dash with 26.55 seconds at the Colorado Invitational. She finished second in her heat and fifth overall.
