UCCS Sixth in RMAC Snapshot Standings
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The final standings in men's and women's basketball and the start of the conference baseball season moved to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to sixth in the new RMAC All-Sport Standings compiled by the Mountain Lion Sports Information Office.
All core sports - men's soccer or football, volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball - are completed and the scores have gone final. Based on the scoring used for the 2011-12 RMAC All-Sport Competition Cup, the Mountain Lions scored 245.1 points in the core sports and finished in eighth among the 14 teams. The total is the highest since the 2006-07 season, and the highest since the scoring system changed formats in the 2008-09 season.
UCCS finished the 2012-13 year in eighth in the core sports to match its best finish in the core sports. The Mountain Lions previously finished eighth in the core sports in the 2009-10 and 2006-07 seasons.
UCCS is ninth in the men's wildcard sports with 154 points and seventh in the women's wild card sports with 183 points. Wild card standings use the top three men's and top three women's finishes in the other sports sponsored by the RMAC.
The Mountain Lions have finished as high as sixth in the RMAC All-Sports Competition Cup once since joining the conference in the 1997-98 season, but haven't finished any higher than No. 10 in the last 10 years.
